Foamfrax II
FCS were required to recondition a Intermittent kiln and dense cast panel roof repairs. The complete kiln had been constructed from dense cast refractory panels. The damage extended into various parts of the kiln. Approximately 5 panels were damaged within the roof and 2 in the sidewall.
Predominately the kiln would be turned off for three days whilst the repairs were carried out along with a slower heat up due to the curing of the newly cast panels. FCS carried out the FOAMFRAXII™ repairs in less than 8 hours, saving up to 3 double shifts (6 man days) of possible downtime should traditional repair methods have been used for relining. The kiln was fired immediately after the FOAMFRAXII ™ installation.
