in both the heavy clay and sanitaryware industries,

3. The construction is not susceptible to thermal shock, and therefore,
will not fall apart, unlike conventional
refractories
4. Maintenance costs are considerabley reduced
5. Lightweight construction compared to conventional decks, reduces
the cost of mechanical handling gear and
extends the life of wheel bearings
6. Lower under car temperature
7. Reduced car thickness (nominally 150mm) which is of considerable
benefit to kiln builders, enabling them
to reduce the height of kiln side walls
8. Kiln sealing arrangements can be easily incorporated into the
design
9. Mechanical damage is simple and cheap to rectify
10. The complete car top is manufactured in house considerably
reducing on site installation time
