‘CORRUFORM’
QUICKFIT MODULES |
|
FCS Quickfit
modules are designed for fitting to plate-work, or open mesh with
ease of installation in mind. The convolutes are secured under compression
with a polythene sleeve. This sleeve also reduces, radically, dusting
of the module during handling and installation.
Quickfit modules
are installed side by side in single rows with a ‘U’
shaped ceramic fibre jointing piece between each row to cater for
any fibre shrinkage.
Either face
of the module can be used as the hot face, dependent upon the application
and customer requirements.
The Quickfit
module is the most versatile module available, the module and fixing
method can be altered to suit the customers application. Modules
with a stud pre-welded onto the fixing place are also available.
We are now able
to manufacture special ‘Long’ Quickfit modules up to
1.8m long, which makes for speedier installation, and less shrinkage
over the span of the module.
‘CORRUFORM’
VENEERING MODULES
Corruform veneering modules are applied to furnace or kiln internal
surfaces
as hot face insulation to:
1. save energy
2. reduce thermal shock and degradation of existing refractories
3. reduce burner noise level
Technical details:
Size
range
|
300mm
square x 50mm up to 150mm thick |
| Density
made up |
KG/M3 STD
densities 128, 150, 170 or to suit application |
| Number
of corrugations |
6, 7, or
8 |
| Temperature
range |
1300°c
continuous temperature rating
1450°c continuous temperature rating
1600°c continuous temperature rating |
Design advantages:
1. the corrugation
bends present the ceramic fibres at right angles to the heat
source, giving insulation properties better than stacked fibre.
2. the resilience of the fibres in ‘Corruform’ configuration
copes exceedingly well with temperature
shrinkage in all direction, and in particular the thickness.
3. the lack of skrim cloth enables the module to be bent severely
to cope with uneven surfaces.

‘STACKED’
SCRIMMED VENEERING MODULES |
|
Stacked
veneering modules are applied to furnace or kiln internal surfaces
as hot face insulation to:
1. save energy
2. reduce thermal shock and degradation of existing refractories
3. reduce burner noise level

densities 128, 150,170 or to suit application |
| Number
of elements |
14- 18 |
| Temperature

1450°c continuous temperature rating
1600°c continuous temperature rating |
Design
advantages:
1. manufactured
to higher densities than Corruform veneering modules
2. modules can be cemented on top of one another to form composite
linings
3. flat surfaces on this type of module are often preferred for
sealing arrangements
4. modules can be manufactured thinner than Corruform veneers
‘Composite
Modules’ give the benefit of high alumina (97%) fibre modules
but with a reduced cost.
The high alumina
hot face is backed up with a 1400°c or 1260°c ceramic fibre,
depending on the application.
The hot face
material is capable of operating at temperatures of up to 1600°c,
and it is more stable for applications where the lining is subjected
to chemical attack.
The thickness
of the hot face material may be varied to suit the application.
The module may be fixed in a variety of ways, as with the standard
Quickfit Module.
The Composite
lining is also suitable for installation as a FCS self supporting
panel.
